Versatile Access to Parallel Memory Systems

چکیده

In this paper, we present a survey of results about the problem of mapping the N items of a data structure on M memory modules so that items can be accessed in parallel by templates i.e. distinct sets of nodes. In particular, we present some results that allow to access several diierent templates at once, i.e. we focus on versatile mapping algorithms (for a comprehensive survey of other related results see 14] in this volume). In particular, we present some of the algorithms in literature for accessing arrays (by rows, columns, diagonals and subarrays) and trees (accessed by subtrees, root-to-leaf paths, levels and compositions thereof).

A High Performance Parallel IP Lookup Technique Using Distributed Memory Organization and ISCB-Tree Data Structure

The IP Lookup Process is a key bottleneck in routing due to the increase in routing table size, increasing traıc and migration to IPv6 addresses. The IP address lookup involves computation of the Longest Prefix Matching (LPM), which existing solutions such as BSD Radix Tries, scale poorly when traıc in the router increases or when employed for IPv6 address lookups. In this paper, we describe a ...

Energy Efficient Novel Design of Static Random Access Memory Memory Cell in Quantum-dot Cellular Automata Approach

This paper introduces a peculiar approach of designing Static Random Access Memory (SRAM) memory cell in Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA) technique. The proposed design consists of one 3-input MG, one 5-input MG in addition to a (2×1) Multiplexer block utilizing the loop-based approach. The simulation results reveals the excellence of the proposed design. The proposed SRAM cell achieves 16% ...

On the Use of Space Filling Curves for Parallel Anisotropic Mesh Adaptation

Efficiently parallelizing a whole set of meshing tools, as required by an automated mesh adaptation loop, relies strongly on data localization to avoid memory access contention. In this regard, renumbering mesh items through a space filling curve (SFC), like Hilbert or Peano, is of great help and proved to be quite versatile. This paper briefly introduces the Hilbert SFC renumbering technique a...
